Fez To Merzouga & Camel Trekking 3 Days





Day 1: Fes  – Ifrane   – Midelt – Merzouga .

Your driver will pick you up from your Hotel /Riad and  travel  through the high plains connecting the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Drive south, inland through a variety of spectacular scenery – fertile valleys, cedar and pine forests and barren, rocky landscapes. The area is populated with wandering nomadic shepherds attending to their flocks. Pass through cedar forests which are home to Barbary apes, North Africa's only monkey   . Palm trees border the lushness of Ziz Valley as you make your way through a true oasis to the Sahara Desert at Erfoud. Soon we start seeing the first sand dunes of Merzouga, Erg Chebbi. Night in hotel right on the outskirt of the dunes. (B,D)

Day 2: Merzouga area and camel trek.

After breakfast in your hotel , you will start visit rissani with tour kasbahs journey of the area before your camel trek and spend the night at the desert camp. Today, you’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations. You may also visit the nomad wire house where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities. On the afternoon you will mount your camel, guided by an experienced camel man to explore within the golden sand sea of Merzouga . Dinner in front of the tent where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Merzouga dunes to – Fes 

Your camelman will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. You’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. Enroute you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast you will start your last day going back to Fes.

Pricing Information

Your private Morocco tour includes transportation via an air-conditioned 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser, all fuel expenses, and the services of your local driver/guide.

Cost will vary based on the following factors:

  • The number of people in the party - the more of your travelling, the cheaper the tour gets as you are sharing the cost of 4x4 wheel car & fuel & driver (friends, family, and loved ones)
  • The number of days
  • Hotels/riads - most of our accommodation is based on 3* riads and hotels, however luxurious accommodations is also available or even special luxury tents with private bathrooms in the desert
  • The activities - camel trekking, sand boarding.
  • One way or return city travel (starting tour in one city and ending in a different one is more expensive)
  • Adult & Child prices available
